Homemade Play Dough With Easy Ingredients

0

So, as some of you know already, I have a toddler, that needs to be kept busy so mommy can write these articles. So as I write this he’s playing with homemade play dough, which I made with ingredients that are easy to find at home. I couldn’t use the exact measurement that I found online for play dough, because it didn’t suited my needs or what I had at home, so I improvised a little. Found some ingredients to use instead and it worked out great. He’s happy, I’m happy, so it seems I did a good job with it.

This is the recipe you need to follow to make a small amount, just so you make an idea if you want to make more, or use a different one. I used double of it at first, but it needed too much flour and I rather made a smaller amount, and put half of it in the freezer, I’m hoping it will hold up well. Have fun!

Ingredients:
1 cup of plain flour
1/2 cup of salt (fine)
1 teaspoon of lemon salt (that is what we call it, not sure for the English version, and I used it instead of cream of tartar, not easy to find at home, but I also read you can use vinegar, same amount)
1 spoon of vegetable oil
1/2 cup of warm water.
I didn’t had food coloring, but my kid is happy to play with whatever, so color is not necessary.

Instructions:
Mix all dry ingredients in a bowl, then add the oil, and leave the water last, adding it slowly and mixing it really well (you can add the food coloring in the water, if you want to add some fun to it), then put some more flour, if you need it, and knead it really well. It is done in no time, and your kid can help making it too.

Just a side note, I gave him the shapes I use to make cookies and he’s having lots of fun making me food. SO I’m writing this down as a success and I’ll definitely come back to it when I need play dough in the future too. I’ll also let you know how it dries and if it can be used for something else too.

So stay tuned for more DIY articles, or subscribe to my website to make sure you don’t miss any of these. I hope to see you, buh bye!
