We’re going to stick to the Thanksgiving Day celebrations for a little bit longer: after helping you prepare some amazing DIY Colonial Dip Candles in our previous article, it’s now time to move to something that’s even more spectacular and which has the potential to make you really happy, as well as impress your guests that come over for the Thanksgiving dinner: a DIY Cornucopia Centerpiece.

Crafting your own Cornucopia Centerpiece is not as complicated as it might sound, on the contrary! For an individualized and complementary Thanksgiving centerpiece, the materials and construction are simple and it’s only your imagination that truly sets the limit.

So let’s not waste any time and let’s check out below to see how to make your own Cornucopia at home – perfect for Thanksgiving Day, but also great for year-long greatness.

Here is what you will need:

– One cornucopia. Get the size that best fits your table. (I recommend this one as a great starting piece.)

– Styrofoam block or ball in a size that will fit about halfway into the horn.

– Silk flowers or ornamental plants. You can get these in traditional autumn colors or make them fit your dining room decorating scheme. Basically, you have complete freedom here and we’ll share with you below some ideas for inspiration, in case you can’t make up your mind.

Place the styrofoam ball or block in the horn and push it down so that it fits snugly about halfway. Next just stick the stems of the flowers into the styrofoam and arrange to your taste. The only requirement is that you use enough flowers to hide the sytrofoam and make sure they are of varying lengths, but that some are long enough to drape elegantly beyond the rim of the horn and onto the table.

And this is it! This is how you can quickly make your perfect Cornucopia Centerpiece at home, for Thanksgiving. And in case you don’t really know how to start, here are some images that might get your creativity flowing:
